As the great divide between social networking and online communities, such as this one, closes fabian and I feel obligated to follow the trends that are being laid out before us, and therefore we wish to announce our official entrance into the world of social networking with our brand new twitter profile and facebook group. Unfortunatley, as of the 10th February 2009, we will no longer be offering an advertisement free environment for our users. We appologise for this however as the site nears its one year anniversary the staff, fabian and I feel that without financial support from the community the site simply will not grow at its full potential and in any case we will inevitably become unable to fully finance the site alone. Up to this point over $6000 has been spent on server rental, domain rental, vBulletin licenses etc and the site is still under one year old, please be aware of this before you think us adding advertisements is outrageous or a betrayal to our users.

The Portable Pirates Staff, fabian and I are pleased to introduce a new style for the forums named "Bluefox"! The style was designed and recently released by Miko over at vbstyles.com to satisfy the public desire for a blue version of his extremely popular "Greenfox" style. Bluefox is now the default style for the site, however in order to satisfy the inevitable 20-30% of users who will prefer the previous style I have left the previous "Element Blue" style as an optional style which can be switched to by going to the bottom left corner of the forum and selecting it from a drop down menu.
